My daughter had a knee operation at Goring Hall. Whilst the operation was successful I do have some concerns about interaction/feedback with the consultant which I have taken up with Goring Hall. The key issue I continue to have and is currently unresolved is that this was paid for privately and the initial quote given initially by a Secretary was substantially less than when formally quoted with Goring Hall not appearing to have a process for providing initial quotes to patients at the time of deciding whether to proceed with the operation (or not.) My understanding is that a process for providing first quotes is being put together by Goring Hall.

This admin at this hospital is spalling. During my stay following a knee replacement I had varying levels of care, sometimes good but often slack and slap dash. In the day of my discharge I received rudeness and complete lack of respect being told I must leave my room regardless at 11am. I explained I had to see my surgeon and I was told well you can wait in the waiting area. At this stage I had not had my dressing changed nor my canular removed. As a paying patient I refused to leave. I feel this was an appalling way to treat a patient paying or otherwise. I would not recommend this hospital.

I have never been seen on time, the last appt was over half an hour late with no advance warning or even an apology. The waiting room is basic, busy, noisy and is messy around the coffee machine that not only dispenses vile drinks but it seems in constant use! Most people can't find the items in the draws as the labelling is so small! The pre-op consult nurses are a joke. Unprofessional and actually gave me the WRONG details about what medication to stop before surgery! When you consider the amount of money that the insurance company pay, I expect better to be honest.

I found the facilities very good and staff very friendly. The location was a bit difficult to find for the firts visit. There was some confusion regarding the pre-opt appoitment but it was resolved very quickly after a phone call to the hospital.

From initial consultation to post-operative care, I had an excellent service at Goring Hall. Whilst I was treated as an NHS referral, I saw no obvious difference about the care and attention I was afforded from those who were presumably funding their own treatment. My parents were treated with dignity and respect as well, and I can not fault anything in any way. Thank you to everyone.

The staff at Goring Hall were all very professional and helpful. In particular the 2 healthcare assistants, Megan and Anna Maria, and the duty nurse(whose name I can't remember) were excellent in the way they dealt with me.
